LIVE RESULTS
Clovis Swim Club's Claire Tuggle is a swimmer to keep your eye on.
The recently turned 13 year-old took down some impressive records as a 12 year-old before aging up. This past spring, she broke three National Age Group records in the 200-yard freestyle (1:47.71), 500-yard freestyle (4:49.32), and 200-yard IM (2:03.23).
She also holds NAG records in the 10&U 200/500-yard freestyle events along with the 10&U 400m freestyle.
Wednesday night at the 2017 NCSA Summer Championships in Indianapolis, Tuggle threw down a swift 2:00.63 in the 200m freestyle to take home the win over Lakeside's Brooke Forde -- who will represent Team USA at World University Games in a couple of weeks before heading to Stanford.
Tuggle's time is the 8th fastest performance of all time in the 13-14 girls age group. If she continues improving at this rate, she will have a legitimate chance of taking down Sippy Woodhead's 1978 mark of 1:58.53. After all, she already took down Woodhead's 11-12 short course yards record in the 500 back in March. The 11-12 NAG in the 200m freestyle is 2:03.38 from 1991 held by Dee Brown.
